Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen Back in JRM’s No. 9 in 2026

Trackhouse Racing teammates Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen will return to the JR Motorsports No. 9 car for select NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts in 2026, the team announced Oct. 21.

Neither sponsorship for the pair nor the specific races in which they will compete were revealed in the announcement. In 2025, the No. 9 was a part-time car for the organization.

Chastain ran five Xfinity Series races in the No. 9 in 2025. He earned three top fives and four top 10, with his best finish a third at Iowa Speedway.

As for van Gisbergen, he ran three races in the No. 9, and all three were road course races, with a win on the Chicago street course.

Both drivers are full time in the NASCAR Cup Series this season.

Fellow Trackhouse driver Daniel Suarez and Connor Mosack also drove the No. 9 in 2025, with Suarez winning at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

JRM’s previously announced roster for 2026 includes Justin Allgaier, Sammy Smith, Connor Zilisch, Carson Kvapil and Rajah Caruth, with Allgaier and Smith full time.
