Dennis Hauger Moving Up to IndyCar With Coyne

INDY NXT champion Dennis Hauger will drive full time in the NTT IndyCar Series in 2026 for Dale Coyne Racing, the team announced Sept. 23.

In addition, the team announced it has entered a technical alliance with Andretti Global for 2026.

“I’m excited to be joining Dale Coyne Racing for my rookie IndyCar season,” Hauger said in a team release. “The progress the team has shown this year is really impressive, and it’s an honor to take my place on the grid with them in 2026. I want to thank Dale Coyne and everyone at the team for putting their trust in me.

“It’ll also be nice to see some familiar faces through the team’s technical partnership with Andretti Global. They’ve been a big part of my success since making the switch, so having their involvement in another rookie season for me will be great. I’m looking forward to contributing and starting this next chapter together.”

Dale Coyne Racing Has Great Driver Options for 2026

“This is a great opportunity for us here at DCR to bring on a talented driver and gain a strong technical partner in Andretti Global,” team owner Dale Coyne added. “Thanks to Dan (Towriss, Andretti Global team partner) and his belief in our sport and his dedication to elevating Dennis to the top of the ladder.”

Before coming to IndyCar, Hauger was a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and won the 2019 Italian F4 championship. Hauger went on to be the 2021 FIA Formula 3 champion and competed in FIA Formula 2 until 2025, when he joined Andretti Global in INDY NXT. Hauger won six races and earned five additional podium finishes in addition to 13 top-10 finishes and seven poles.

  1. Glad to see this, both for Coyne and Hauger.

    Hauger mostly dominated the IndyNXT series this year, and it began to look like he’d be in a situation similar to Corey Heim in NASCAR trucks. Tons of talent, but a logjam above.

    Though Andretti was a little off the pace this year, there’s no reason to think they won’t improve next year. This technical alliance should help Coyne field decent cars for Hauger to learn the ropes in Indycar, and help a small team be more competitive.
