NASCAR Mailbox: Corey Heim Needs to Be in the Cup Series Full Time

Much-hyped NASCAR prospect Corey Heim had his best NASCAR Cup Series run yet at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday (Sept. 14).

He survived the tire craziness and carnage to place 23XI Racing’s No. 67 car in sixth position, his first Top-10 effort in NASCAR’s premier division.

He is taking the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field behind the woodshed this season as well, and it would be a travesty if he did not walk away with the championship.

With all this in mind, one would think he’s getting more than the occasional spot start in Cup, right? Right?

Kevin Nix answers this week’s question for NASCAR Mailbox on Frontstretch’s YouTube Channel.

  1. There are no toyota teams for him to go to. Joe gibbs needs to put him in a xfinity car for a couple years. Look at how long it has taken ty gibbs to win. Not a easy transition.

  2. This reminds me of “Sliced Bread”. How many years did it take to work out for him? A LONG time ago Richard Petty said it takes five years to learn how to win in Cup. Now kids come in and are expected to win right away. How many first round selected QBs have immediate success?
