Jack Wood Missing Richmond Due to Injury

Jack Wood will not race in this week’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced Aug. 14.

The change is due to an injury he sustained at Watkins Glen International the previous week.

As a result, MHR said it will withdraw the No. 91 outright rather than have a fill-in driver for the event.

A timetable for Wood’s return has not been set.

Wood suffered a hard crash while navigating through turn 2 of the 2.45 mile Watkins Glen last weekend, resulting in heavy damage to his Chevrolet that forced him out of the race, finishing 33rd.

Wood currently ranks 19th in points with one top-10 finish after 17 races.

The team originally planned to field five trucks at Richmond, including an additional No. 16 for Christian Eckes alongside its usual four full-time entries.
