Ryan Blaney Starting From Pole in Watkins Glen Cup Race

Ryan Blaney will start from the pole in Sunday’s (Aug. 10) NASCAR Cup Series race from Watkins Glen International.

Blaney turned the fastest lap at a speed of 122.568 mph on Saturday (Aug. 9).

The pole marks the 12th of Blaney’s career and his second of the season.

He’ll immediately have a formidable challenger on the front row in Shane van Gisbergen, who rolls off second.

Chase Briscoe, the session’s quickest Toyota driver, starts third, followed by Ross Chastain and Kyle Busch in the top five.

Michael McDowell, Alex Bowman, Carson Hocevar, Christopher Bell and William Byron complete the top 10.

With 40 cars entered, all drivers have made the field for Sunday’s race.
