Indy 500 TV Schedule 2025: Where, When to Watch

For the NTT IndyCar Series, the last couple of weekends of May are the most important weekends of the entire year. This weekend is the big one, the Indianapolis 500.

2025 Indy 500 TV Schedule

  • NTT IndyCar Series Indianapolis 500 Practice No. 9 (Carburetor Day): 11 a.m. ET Friday on FS1
  • NTT IndyCar Series Indianapolis 500 Pit Stop Competition: 2:30 p.m. ET Friday on FS1
  • 2025 Indianapolis 500: Noon ET on FOX

This weekend is a huge deal for the NTT IndyCar Series as it will be the first time that the Indianapolis 500 will air on FOX.

Before the race, teams will have one more chance to shake down their cars Friday at 11 a.m. ET as part of Carburetor Day. That will air live on FS1.

The annual Pit Stop Competition is also on Friday. That will air live at 2:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

Coverage of the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will begin with pre-race coverage at 10 a.m. ET on FOX. Race coverage will begin at Noon ET with the green flag scheduled for 12:45 p.m. ET.

In past years, the race has been blacked out in the Indianapolis and Lafayette markets in order to protect the gate. However, the race has effectively been declared a sellout. As a result, there will be no blackout this year.

There will also be an additional voice on the Indianapolis 500 telecast as Tony Stewart will join the team.

Stewart has five career Indianapolis 500 starts with a best finish of fifth in 1997. He is also the only driver to complete all 1100 miles of the Indianapolis-Charlotte double, managing the feat in 2001. He finished sixth at Indianapolis and fourth in the Coca-Cola 600 that night.

Stewart is one of three new faces on the broadcast as Chris Myers and Danica Patrick have been drafted in for their knowledge. Patrick has eight Indianapolis 500 starts with a best finish of third in 2009. Myers’ experience covering motorsports is almost exclusively with NASCAR, although he’s been a part of FOX’s NASCAR coverage since 2001.

What’s the Weather Look Like?

For this upcoming weekend, things are looking OK. Friday’s forecast is for partly cloudy skies with a small chance of rain with a high of 65°. Comfortable, but below normal.

For the big day on Sunday, the weather is going to be similar. The forecast high is 66° with cloudy skies. There is a threat of precipitation, but it is likely going to be in the southern part of Indiana.
