Tyler Reddick Wins COTA Pole as 23XI Locks Out Front Row

Tyler Reddick will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday after winning his 10th career pole and his second at Circuit of the Americas.

Alongside Reddick on the front row will be his 23XI teammate, Bubba Wallace, who ended qualifying with a career-best effort of 2nd. Wallace ran directly behind Reddick on his run in what amounted to a tag team effort to lock out the front row.

Chase Elliott will roll off third with Carson Hocevar to his outside in fourth, while the third row belongs to the Trackhouse Duo of Daniel Suarez and Shane van Gisbergen in fifth and sixth, respectively. Suarez was the fastest driver in Group No. 1

The fourth row will feature the Chevrolets of Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch in seventh and eighth. Ross Chastain will start ninth alongside the fastest Ford, Todd Gilliland, in 10th.

The Fords seemed to struggle in qualifying with only 3 of the top 20 spots, while Joe Gibbs Racing found themselves further down the order than normal with Denny Hamlin being their highest starter in the eleventh position.

Connor Zilisch, who won the pole for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Focused Health 250 in a session Friday where only Chastain was within a second of him, was a little slower than expected. He’ll make his Cup debut from 14th on the grid.
