Kyle Busch Returning to Spire for 5 Truck Starts

Kyle Busch is returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Spire Motorsports this season, starting at this weekend’s FR8 208 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Spire announced Feb. 17.

Busch looks to defend his win in the same race the year prior in the same No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado.

This will be the first of five Truck events that Busch will run for Spire in 2025, the same amount that he drove in 2024.

“With my long-standing relationship with Jeff (Dickerson, Spire co-owner) and having a lot of my former employees still working on the Craftsman Truck Series teams at Spire Motorsports, it’s cool to be able to hop back in their Chevy Silverados five times and work towards filling those trophy cases,” Busch said in a team release. “I still really enjoy being a part of the process of evaluating their equipment and being a mentor to the young drivers in Spire’s lineup. It’s fun trying to help speed up their learning curve by passing on a few pointers here and there.”

Busch will be teamed up with crew chief Brian Pattie and the No. 7 team for this weekend’s race in Atlanta and for the Charlotte Motor Speedway race on May 23. He will also pilot the team’s new No. 07 helmed by Allen Hart in three races this season starting at North Wilkesboro Speedway (May 17), Nashville Superspeedway (May 30) and at Watkins Glen International (Aug. 8).

Busch snagged two wins for the team last year at Atlanta and Texas Motor Speedway, which raised his all-time win count to 66, the most in the series.

“I’m thankful to have Kyle back with our NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team this year,” Dickerson added. “Having one of the best drivers in NASCAR history in our equipment and in our shop makes everyone better. He won a couple last year with us and we all know when he straps in that we have one goal and that is to add to the trophy case in the shop that, ironically, he built. I think people sometimes overlook how good Kyle is working with young drivers and his ability to teach them. The standard he sets is one that both Rajah (Caruth) and Andres (Perez) can benefit from.”

In all, Busch three top fives and top 10s in addition to his two Truck wins in 2024. He competes full time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing, finishing 34th in the Daytona 500 last weekend.
