Pitbull, a co-owner of Trackhouse Racing since its 2021 inception, will no longer be part of the team effectively immediately, both the rapper and Trackhouse announced Feb. 14.
Pitbull and Justin Marks started the NASCAR Cup Series team, with its first season of competition in 2022.
Daniel Suarez, Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen currently drive for the organization. A fourth car for Helio Castroneves will be fielded in the Daytona 500 this weekend.
“Over the past five years, we’ve made history by introducing NASCAR to a whole new audience and falling in love with NASCAR fans at the same time,” Pitbull wrote on social media. “We have made the decision to terminate the partnership with Trackhouse Racing, effective immediately. We’re looking forward to performing on the sport’s biggest stage this Sunday, the Daytona 500.”
“We’re honored and humbled that @pitbull has chosen to take this journey with Trackhouse,” a Trackhouse representative added on social media. “Thank you for all you’ve done and good luck on your next venture!”
Neither side explained a reason for Pitbull’s departure.
