Burt Myers Running Clash With AmeriVet

Burt Myers and Team AmeriVet are entering the NASCAR Cup Series’ Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, the team announced Jan. 17.

Myers will drive the No. 50 in his first appearance in a Cup car, albeit in an exhibition race.

AmeriVet fielded the No. 50 in two Cup races in 2024 with Ty Dillon and Jeb Burton driving. It plans to run another limited schedule in 2025, though the Clash is its first finalized race.

Myers is a longtime regular at Bowman Gray and also made one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start in 2009 at Martinsville Speedway.

He’s the second such driver announced for the Clash, following Tim Brown, who’ll drive for Rick Ware Racing in its No. 15. Brown was Myers’ teammate in that 2009 Truck race, also his only national series start to date.

“I’m very excited to be a part of such a monumental event,” Myers said in a team release. “Every short-track driver dreams of an opportunity like this. For mine to happen at my home track and to be able to continue my NASCAR family legacy means the world to me.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to kick off the racing season at The Clash with Burt Myers,” AmeriVet co-owned Rebecca Auchmoody added. “This event will help us grow as a team with Burt’s experience and Tony [Eury] Jr. as crew chief; it will contribute towards improving team performance.

“It’s also an incredible opportunity for us to continue our mission of supporting veterans through our 50 Vets a Week program. Last season, we were proud to relieve $125,000 in veteran debt after the race in Phoenix [Raceway], and our goal this time is to exceed that amount. Each race gives us a platform to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have served, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together at The Clash.”
