Joey Logano clocked the fastest time during NASCAR Cup Series qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday (March 2) with a speed of 184.357 mph. This was Logano’s 30th career pole in the Cup Series and his second of 2024.
It’s his second pole in a row at the first Las Vegas race of the season and his third overall pole at the facility
Kyle Larson qualified second to Logano with a speed of 184.225 mph. Larson came into the weekend as the reigning winner of the fall race at Las Vegas.
Austin Cindric will start behind his Team Penske teammate in third and Larson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron posted the fourth-best time. Bubba Wallace, the fastest of the Toyotas, completed the top five.
Chase Briscoe, Martin Truex Jr., Ty Gibbs, Chris Buescher and Christopher Bell rounded out the top 10 in sixth through 10th, respectively.
Ryan Preece did not make a qualifying lap due to incurring damage from the wall during practice. Preece was joined by Justin Haley, who experienced a steering rack problem on his No. 51 Rick Ware Racing Ford Mustang and JJ Yeley in the No. 44 NY Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
Thirty-seven entries were entered for this weekend, therefore all made the show.
