Cole Custer to Qualify RFK Racing No. 6 Car at Phoenix

Brad Keselowski will not qualify his No. 6 RFK Racing Ford Mustang at Phoenix Raceway, the team announced on social media Saturday (Nov. 4).

Keselowski will miss qualifying, as his wife, Paige, went into labor. In his place, NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and Championship 4 contender Cole Custer will step in for the qualifying session on Nov. 4 (Saturday).

The Keselowskis already have two daughters, Scarlett and Autumn Keselowski. This will be their third child.

RFK Racing expects Keselowski back in the car for the NASCAR Cup Series season finale on Sunday. As he did not qualify the car, Keselowski will have to start Sunday’s event from the rear.

Keselowski’s best finish at Phoenix in the Next Gen car came this spring when he finished 18th. In last year’s season finale, Keselowski finished 35th.

While Custer will not compete in this year’s Cup finale, he qualified ninth in his Stewart-Haas Racing Ford in the 2022 race.

Cup qualifying for the championship race is slated for 4:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on the USA Network.
