Ty Gibbs Removed from 23XI Racing No. 23 at Phoenix After Family Emergency

It was reported on Sunday (Nov. 6) that Ty Gibbs will not drive 23XI Racing’s No. 23 Toyota Camry at Phoenix Raceway due to a family emergency.

Gibbs won the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Phoenix race and 2022 championship on Saturday (Nov. 5), and has filled in for the injured Kurt Busch in 23XI Racing’s No. 45-turned-23 entry since Pocono Raceway, having made 15 NASCAR Cup Series starts thus far. His best result came at Michigan International Speedway, where he finished 10th.

Daniel Hemric, who has made eight Cup starts with Kaulig Racing in 2022, will fill in for Gibbs.

This is a breaking story and will be updated with any further information.
