Nick Sanchez Not Running Remainder of Planned Xfinity Schedule for McLeod

Nick Sanchez is out of a NASCAR Xfinity Series ride, at least for now.

Sanchez tweeted July 13 that he will not compete in the remainder of his scheduled races for BJ McLeod Motorsports in the series.

“I’ve been presented with an opportunity that both supports and aligns with my plan for my growth and advancement,” Sanchez tweeted. “It is not something I can pass up on and can’t wait to share this news with you soon.”

Sanchez was originally set for five more races this season with the team, starting next weekend at Pocono Raceway.

In two Xfinity efforts for the team, he finished 26th at Phoenix Raceway in March and 28th at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.

Sanchez currently sits second in ARCA Menards Series points, one point behind points leader Rajah Caruth heading to the series’ stop in Pocono. He has posted two wins, two top fives and six top 10s so far in 2022.

BJMM has not announced who will replace Sanchez in his previously scheduled events. The team fields the Nos. 5 and 78 full time, with the Nos. 55 and 99 part-time rides.
