After uncertainties surrounding his NASCAR Cup Series future, Martin Truex Jr. announced in a statement through Joe Gibbs Racing that he will return to the No. 19 Toyota for another run at the championship in 2023.
“I’m back,” Truex stated.
Truex announced the decision to media members at Nashville Superspeedway on Friday (June 24).

Truex will be back next year for his 18th full-time Cup season and his fifth at JGR.
Since joining JGR, Truex has 12 wins, 44 top fives and 74 top 10 finishes. Overall, the 2017 Cup champion has 31 victories.
Truex is currently sixth in regular-season points, 65 points above the playoff cutline. Winless in 2022, his best finish this season has been a fourth-place effort at Richmond Raceway in April.
