Jonathan Shafer will make his ARCA Menards Series debut in 2022 for Venturini Motorsports in 2022, Venturini announced Jan. 4.
Shafer will drive multiple main-series ARCA races for Venturini, starting at Iowa Speedway, where he’ll pilot the No. 15.
“This is such a great moment in my career,” Shafer said in a team release. “A lot of hard work has gotten me to this point I can’t thank Venturini Motorsports and Toyota enough for giving me this opportunity. I’m excited to have this chance and continue to develop as a driver. Knowing I’ll be running great equipment with a team as good as Venturini Motorsports gives me a lot of confidence going into my first start at Iowa.”
Shafer’s other ARCA races with Venturini include events at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Bristol Motor Speedway and Salem Speedway, plus the ARCA Menards Series East event at Dover Motor Speedway.
The 16-year-old’s announcement follows Jan. 3’s Venturini reveal that Corey Heim and Jesse Love will split the team’s No. 20 in 2022.
