Bubba Wallace Adds Wheaties Sponsorship

Bubba Wallace will feature Wheaties sponsorship on his No. 23 for 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2022, Wheaties announced Dec. 13.

Though the release reveals that Wheaties will partner with 23XI throughout 2022, the only announced race with primary sponsorship for the No. 23 is at Auto Club Speedway.

The sponsorship coincides with team co-owner Michael Jordan’s return to the Wheaties box as part of the brand’s 100th anniversary.

“To be able to honor MJ as part of the Wheaties 100th anniversary celebration and have Wheaties join the 23XI Racing family is special for our team,” Wallace said in a team release. “When you think of greatness, you think of Michael Jordan and his drive for excellence both on and off the court. His competitive nature and determination motivate me in my career every day. It is an honor of a lifetime to drive for MJ and rep the No. 23, a number that is such a big part of his legacy.”

Wallace is entering his second season with 23XI in 2022. In 2021, he scored one win, three top fives and three top 10s, finishing 21st in points. The organization adds a second car, the No. 45 with Kurt Busch, next year.

Breakfast of Champions? What a dreamer!

For the Jordan image I’m thinking a freeze-frame of his offensive foul at the buzzer against Utah would encapsulate his career well. For Bubba, I’m thinking a shared cover with him and Smollett would do the same. “Breakfast of Charlatans” could be the new catchphrase. .
