AJ Allmendinger Holds Pole for Xfinity Race at Daytona

AJ Allmendinger is on the pole for Friday’s (Aug. 27) NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

The Michigan International Speedway winner is looking to go back-to-back and earn his first Xfinity victory at Daytona.

Noah Gragson will join Allmendinger on the front row while Brandon Jones slots in third. Gragson’s JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier is fourth and Jones’ Joe Gibbs Racing cohort Harrison Burton rounds out the top five.

Riley Herbst is sixth, Brett Moffitt begins seventh and Jeremy Clements starts eighth. Justin Haley and Jade Buford complete the top 10 starters.

As expected, Timmy Hill and Dillon Bassett did not qualify for the race.

A driver’s and car owner’s finishing position (weighted 25% each), fastest lap from previous race (15%) and rank in team owner’s points (35%) were combined to set the lineup.
