Josh Berry is attempting to compete for Jordan Anderson Racing in the No. 31 NASCAR Xfinity Series car at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course next week, the team announced Wednesday (May 26).
Berry competed in nine Xfinity events so far this year, earning his first career victory at Martinsville Speedway. He also notched two additional top fives and four top 10s in 2021 while competing for JR Motorsports.
“I have made 16 Xfinity starts throughout my career – all on ovals,” Berry said in a release. “This is a great opportunity to get in another great Chevrolet race car fielded by Jordan Anderson Racing and add a road course to my resume. After the win at Martinsville this year with JRM, I am excited to see what the rest of the season has in store, and any opportunity to gain more experience helps us build for the future.
“I am hopeful we will be able get the No. 31 Bommarito Automotive Group Chevrolet Camaro SS up front and continue the great momentum we have had.”
Tyler Reddick drove the No. 31 to an eighth-place finish in JAR’s debut at Circuit of the Americas.
“I am really looking forward to working with Josh and having him compete for us at Mid-Ohio,” Anderson said.
“Like Tyler did for us last week, he has the ability to bring a lot of talent and experience to the table for our team to evaluate where we are, grow, and lay the groundwork for the future. I am grateful to everyone at the Bommarito Automotive Group and Chevrolet for standing behind our team and giving Josh this opportunity.”

The NASCAR Xfinity rule book says that the top 30 in owners points will lineup first, while positions 31-40 will be filled by team owner(s) that have won at least one championship race in Xfinity during the current or previous year with the vehicle listed by the team owner. Additionally, any driver(s) that have won a race will line up next. Since the latter applies to Berry, he will be eligible to participate at Mid-Ohio.
The event at Mid-Ohio is set to run on June 5 at 1 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1 and MRN Radio.
