Live Fast Motorsports revealed a special paint scheme that will adorn their No. 78 Ford at Talladega Superspeedway in this weekend’s GEICO 500 honoring NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2021 member Red Farmer Tuesday evening (April 21).
The reveal of the special livery stems from a newly-formed partnership between the young Live Fast Motorsports race team and The Long-Lewis Foundation. It’s a privately-funded foundation set up to support local evangelical causes and to help those less fortunate in communities.
Long-Lewis began sponsoring Farmer early in his career in 1962 with the same white-and-gold livery the No. 78 Ford Mustang will be sporting this weekend driven by team co-owner B.J. McLeod.
“It’s nice to have Long-Lewis on the No. 78 car this weekend,” said Farmer. “I’ve had that gold and white car since 1955 and Long-Lewis started sponsoring me in 1962 and been on my car ever since. Talladega is a great place for me, I call it my hometown track. I won two ARCA 500s on that track and a bunch of others. Glad to see a Cup team running my colors again there.”

“It’s so important to look back and reflect on the history of our sport, especially as being one of the newest teams in NASCAR,” said team co-owner Matt Tifft. “There are no [people] more legendary than … Red Farmer and his dedication to this sport that put NASCAR on the map.
“Bringing a partner like Long-Lewis and their partners together on this Mustang gives a great sense of pride, and with our consistent runs over the last few months and speed we are finding, we are ready to push toward our best finish of the year. Talladega is a wildcard race, always [filled with] excitement and survival, so we are ready to take on that challenge!”
Coverage for this weekend’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway will begin Sunday, 2:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
