Brad Keselowski Starting from Pole in NASCAR’s Return at Darlington

Brad Keselowski will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag in the return of live racing at Darlington Raceway.

Keselowski was selected as the pole winner in a random draw on Fox Sports 1’s NASCAR Race Hub on Thursday (May 14).

The random draw took place because NASCAR will not have practice or qualifying before the 2020 The Real Heroes 400.

Forty drivers are entered for the race, so all drivers will start the race.

Alex Bowman, Matt DiBenedetto, Kyle Busch, and Aric Almirola will round out the top five starters.

Kevin Harvick will start sixth, five positions below his spot in the owners’ point standings.

Matt Kenseth will start 12th in his first race driving the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet. In 25 career Cup starts there, he has one win, three top fives, and 12 top-10 finishes.

Last year’s pole-sitter William Byron will start 18th, bettering his starting spot by one ahead of where his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet sits in the owners’ point standings.

Ryan Newman will start 21st in his first Cup Series race back since his injury in the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. He will return to wheel the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford with a playoff waiver from NASCAR.

The starting lineup was set by a random draw in groups of 12. The selection process selected the starting spots for positions Nos. 25-36, then 13-24, and then the top 12 starters. Positions 37-40 are set via the owners’ point standings.

REAL HEROES 400 STARTING LINEUP

The Real Heroes 400 will take place on Sunday, May 17 at 3:30 p.m. ET with TV coverage provided by FOX.

Baby Busch will do what he usually does…Overdrive the car and caress the wall, flatten the right side of the car. get faster and be given a chance to win near the end of the event if he needs it.
