Christian Eckes Fastest in Las Vegas Truck Practice

NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series rookie Christian Eckes took his No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota to the top of the charts in Friday’s (Feb. 21) lone practice for the Strat 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The 19-year-old Eckes clocked in the fastest lap with a speed of 177.848 mph. Veteran Johnny Sauter logged the second-fastest lap at 177.655 mph in his No. 13 ThorSport Racing Ford.

Brett Moffitt was third in his No. 23 GMS Racing Chevrolet, while Ty Majeski and Sheldon Creed rounded at the top five.

Grant Enfinger, who won last week’s Truck contest at Daytona International Speedway, clocked in ninth.

Rookie Raphael Lessard, a teammate to Eckes, turned the most laps in the session at 51 but was only 19th fastest.

34 of the 35 trucks entered turned a lap during the session. Bayley Currey failed to hit the track after encountering troubles with his No. 49 CMI Motorsports Chevrolet in the garage area.

NASCAR RACE WEEKEND CENTRAL: LAS VEGAS

Qualifying for the Strat 200 is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET (Feb. 21), with the race to follow at 9 p.m ET . Fox Sports 1 will provide live TV coverage for both events.
