The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returns to the midwest for Sunday’s (Oct. 21) Hollywood Casino 400 held at the 1.5-mile oval of Kansas Speedway. This event is also the final race of the second round of the playoffs. The championship field shrinks from 12 to eight after the race.
All drivers will qualify for the race this week (40 entries for 40 spots). Not present this week are Beard Motorsports, who ran 12th with Brendan Gaughan at Talladega, along with Obaika Racing (DNQ with David Starr).
After a busy Talladega weekend, Landon Cassill returns to his normal ride, the No. 00 for StarCom Racing. Kyle Weatherman will drive the team’s second entry, the No. 99.
Reed Sorenson is entered to drive the No. 7 for Premium Motorsports. This race will be Sorenson’s first start since Las Vegas after DJ Kennington piloted the car at Talladega.
B.J. McLeod returns to the No. 51 this week for Rick Ware Racing. McLeod has made 12 starts this season, all of them driving for RWR.
Finally, MBM Motorsports returns to the track this weekend, with Timmy Hill driving the No. 66. Ternio will sponsor the effort as the organization continues its limited schedule.
