NASCAR on TV this week

Entry List: AAA 400 Drive For Autism

After only the second full field of the season last weekend at Talladega, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series once again has a short field for Dover.  38 teams have posted entries for this weekend’s action.

Likely the most notable changes this weekend are with StarCom Racing.  They are fielding two cars for the first time and introducing a new sponsor.  Landon Cassill returns to the No. 00, replacing Joey Gase.  Cassill will race with sponsorship from RNH Electric.  The team is also debuting the No. 99 Chevrolet.  Derrike Cope will drive with StarCom Fiber as the sponsor.  Cope’s No. 99 is an open entry.

Aside from the StarCom Racing expansion, there aren’t that many changes.  Kasey Kahne has primary sponsorship this weekend from Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, a chain of stores that specialize in surplus merchandise.  Dover is the closest track to the company’s headquarters in Harrisburg, Penn.

At TriStar Motorsports, Corey LaJoie returns to the No. 72 Chevrolet, replacing Cole Whitt.  LaJoie has only one previous Cup start at Dover, that coming last fall for BK Racing.  LaJoie started 37th and finished 34th.  Beard Oil Motorsports’ Brendan Gaughan, Ricky Benton Racing’s Timothy Peters and Gaunt Brothers Racing’s DJ Kennington are not entered this week.
