On the heels of recording its first top-20 finish in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, StarCom Racing has announced its driver lineup for Talladega Superspeedway.
Joey Gase will pilot the team’s No. 00 in the April 29 race, the team announced Tuesday (April 17).
Sparks Energy, Inc. will sponsor the car of Gase, who competes full-time in the XFINITY Series for Go Green Racing’s No. 35.
“I’m very excited to be pulling double duty in Talladega again and can’t thank everyone at StarCom Racing enough for the opportunity to represent Sparks Energy,” Gase said in a release. “The spring Talladega race weekend is a huge weekend for my great friends at Sparks Energy. They bring in hundreds of folks to the Sparks Energy 300 to say thank you to all of their employees, customers, families and friends.”
Gase has one other Cup start in 2018, driving Premium Motorsports’ No. 55 to a 32nd-place finish at Las Vegas Speedway. In the XFINITY Series, he’s ranked 21st in points with a best finish of 16th twice, at Auto Club Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.
StarCom earned its best finish as an organization at Bristol, with Landon Cassill completing the race 20th. Cassill returns to the seat this weekend at Richmond Raceway.
