Tony Mrakovich to Make XFINITY Debut at Bristol with JGL

JGL Racing announced Thursday afternoon (April 5) that Tony Mrakovich will make his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut in the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 14, piloting the No. 28 Ford Mustang, with sponsorship from Extreme Energy Solutions.

Mrakovich, 19, from Elizabethtown, Penn., began his stock-car racing career with three starts in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards in 2017, with a best finish of eighth at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in the Music City 200, ahead of current Camping World Truck Series drivers Dalton Sargeant and Mike Senica.

“[Bristol] is one of the toughest tracks on the circuit. Some of the sport’s most prestigious names have gone to Victory Lane here, so if you can have a good day at Bristol, you’ve accomplished quite a feat,” Mrakovich said in a press release. “I’m so thankful for Extreme Energy’s support on this journey and for the opportunity to run my first XFINITY race with JGL Racing.”

The logos of Extreme Energy Solutions products Smart Energy Reducer and Extreme Kleaner all-purpose cleaner will adorn the vehicle.

“Tony is a talented young driver with a lot of potential and we’re looking forward to giving him the opportunity to compete in his first XFINITY race,” JGL team owner James Whitener said in a press release. “We think EES is going to be a great partner with our team.”

Mrakovich will also drive the No. 28 in the ToyotaCare 250 on Friday, April 20, at Richmond Raceway. Dylan Lupton is the primary driver of the No. 28 car, which currently sits 32nd in the XFINITY owner standings with 45 points.

The Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 will be on Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m. ET with television coverage on FS1.
