For the second time in three practice sessions, it’s Kyle Larson atop the boards at Martinsville Speedway.
Turning a lap of 19.707 seconds (96.088 mph), Larson won final practice at Martinsville, making it a three-peat for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates in practice, as teammate Jamie McMurray led the second session.
Tony Stewart finished second, 0.014 seconds behind Larson while Paul Menard was third.
David Ragan kept the momentum rolling – after qualifying 12th and finishing third in second practice – as he ended happy hour in the fourth spot. The No. 23 BK Racing team will hunt for their first top-10 finish of 2016 in Sunday’s Goody’s Fast Relief 500.
Completing the top 10 is Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, pole winner Martin Truex, Jr., Joey Logano, McMurray and Kevin Harvick.
In addition to turning in the fastest lap of the session, Larson also had the fastest ten-lap average at 19.836 seconds (95.462 mph). Kyle Busch was second, followed by Stewart, Logano and Truex.
