For the third week in a row, the race-winning team in the Sprint Cup Series received a warning for an infraction that occurred during the weekend.
Carl Edwards’ No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing team was warned for failing pre-qualifying inspection twice. The warning was his third of the season and with one more the team will lose pit selection in the next race.
The warning for Edwards is the third in as many weeks for JGR’s race winning teams. Kyle Busch, who won the previous two races at Martinsville and Texas, earned a warning following each victory.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick and Trevor Bayne also failed pre-qualifying inspection twice. All three placed in the top 10 at Bristol.
For Harvick’s team, the warning came as a surprise as they only went through tech once.
First time I've got a warning for failing template inspection twice, when we only went around once.. ? https://t.co/swHPysLgDv

In the XFINITY Series, Ty Dillon’s No. 3 team was penalized for an illegal spoiler issue found on opening-day inspection. Dillon’s crew chief Nick Harrison was suspended for one race and fined $10,000 for the infraction.

Is Edwards getting “warned” the same as Johnson getting “warned?”
