Entry List: 2015 GEICO 500 at Talladega

NASCAR’s first shot at the new restrictor-plate qualifying format will include two drivers going home.

The entry list for the May 3 GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway was released on Monday (April 27).

The list includes 45 entrants, meaning that two drivers will fail to make Sunday’s feature.

The Wood Brothers will look to return to action on Sunday’s feature with Team Penske prospect Ryan Blaney. Blaney, along with Premium Motorsports driver Brendan Gaughan, will have to qualify on time.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will return to action at Talladega on Friday for two practice sessions, followed by Coors Light Pole Qualifying on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Coverage of the GEICO 500 will begin on FOX at 1 p.m. ET.

Just curious, anybody besides me planning on skipping the more luck than skill but still deadly 500 aero show this weekend?

Carl D.

I’ll watch it, but then again I’ve been known to watch Extreme Hoarders, My Strange Addiction, and Shelby the Swamp Man.
