Michael Waltrip Racing and Maxwell House announced a six-race partnership at Texas Motor Speedway this morning. The sponsorship begins with the Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway August 2, and the Maxwell House colors will adorn Clint Bowyer‘s No. 15 Toyota at Watkins Glen, Martinsville and Texas Motor Speedway.
“Maxwell House is a well-respected brand and on behalf of our sport, I’d like to welcome them back to NASCAR,” Clint Bowyer said while addressing the media. “We pride ourselves on taking care of our sponsors at Michael Waltrip Racing, and we’re certainly going to our best for them – both on and off the track.”
MWR owner Michael Waltrip will drive the Maxwell House car at Talladega Superspeedway and the 2016 Daytona 500 to round out the six-race partnership. Michael Waltrip has driven a Maxwell House painted car before during the 1990 season.
“It makes me proud to wear the Maxwell House colors again,” Waltrip said. “I am really looking forward to racing at Talladega this fall, but everyone knows how special the Daytona 500 is to me. I want to thank Maxwell House for letting me compete in my 29th Great American Race. Clint and I are going to do everything we can to get the Maxwell House Toyota Camry in victory lane for them.”
Aside from the primary sponsorship, Maxwell House will serve as an associate sponsor for the remainder of the season.
