Frontstretch Pleased to Welcome McLaughlin to Writing Staff For 2007
Frontstretch, one of the fastest growing sites on the internet for NASCAR news and commentary, is pleased to welcome veteran NASCAR writer Matt McLaughlin to their roster of talented writers for the 2007 season. McLaughlin, who became part of the Fronstretch family beginning on January 1st, is familiar to many fans who have been reading this often outspoken columnist since he began writing about the sport in 1997.
McLaughlin’s distinguished career has taken many twists and turns through the years. Most recently with RacingStalkers.com, most are familiar with his work from the former SpeedWorld/RaceFX site, which grew steadily during his tenure, eventually becoming the modern-day site Racing One. McLaughlin has also written for the former RaceComm site, run by Mike Calinoff in the late 1990s, and is the author of the racing novel Eights and Aces.
For Frontstretch, McLaughlin will be bringing a weekly digest-style race recap for the Nextel Cup Series to his new home, along with a driver handicap that looks at how the top 20 in points have done at each track in prior events. Fans may also be treated to the occasional commentary from this sometimes controversial but always buzz-generating writer.
“Adding a writer the caliber of Matt McLaughlin will only add to the growing, dedicated fan base that has flocked to our site in recent years,” said Editor-in-Chief Tom Bowles. “Our website is known for giving our honest opinions on the sport, pulling no punches while taking seriously the passion of those that follow the No. 1 form of racing in America. Matt’s edgy, thought-provoking style is exactly the type of stuff that will give everyone involved in the sport something to think about, a unique opinion in the face of both good times and bad. We look forward to him being part of the site for many years to come.”
McLaughlin will join a strong returning lineup of Frontstretch favorites for 2007. Regular visitors and new readers will continue to enjoy the thoughts, humor, and opinions of top notch writers like Jeff Meyer, Cami Starr, Amy Henderson, and Becca Gladden along with popular features like the weekly Top 10 lists and Mirror Driving. Frontstretch is also pleased to bring fans interviews and driver diaries from some of their favorite NASCAR personalities.
