The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Craftsman Truck Series will not return to Rockingham Speedway next season, Track Enterprises announced Aug. 14.
Track Enterprises, the racing promotion brand managing Rockingham, said there is a possibility for NASCAR to return at the 0.94-mile North Carolina oval in the future, but there are no plans at this time.
Rockingham hosted the ARCA Menards Series East, O’Reilly and Trucks in 2025 and 2026.
“The response from the fans over the past two years has been nothing short of incredible,” Track Enterprises’ Bob Sargent said in a release. “Bringing NASCAR back to Rockingham was a special opportunity, and the support we received from race fans, competitors, sponsors, local officials and the entire community exceeded every expectation.
“While we’re disappointed that NASCAR won’t be racing at Rockingham in 2027, we remain optimistic about the future and look forward to exploring opportunities to bring racing back in the future.”
Rockingham is owned by the IHRA, which has experienced reported financial strain.

took over the sanctioning rights because bills aren’t getting paid
neither are the pullers or fair boards.
I’m not surprised one bit. Once the free money disappears, so do the venues. The same thing will probably happen to North Wilkesboro. Millions of dollars wasted under the guise of economic recovery. It was fun while it lasted. Such a shame.
Nascar knows how to run something into the ground.
