Stock Car Scoop: A Wet, Wild and Wonderful Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway

It was a wet, wild and wonderful night at EchoPark Speedway, especially for Ryan Blaney as he dominated Sunday night’s (July 12)…and Monday morning’s running of the Quaker State 400.

Stock Car Scoop host Eric Schneck breaks down the Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway, which includes a dominating performance by Blaney who led 171 out of 263 laps. That is the most laps led by a driver at a drafting track since Richard Petty in the 1964 running of the Daytona 500. He also discusses Bubba Wallace, who crossed the finish line in third, but he was penalized for passing below the yellow line, which sent him all the way back to a 29th-place finishing position.

Joining Schneck this week on the Stock Car Scoop are Frontstretch trackside reporters Michael Massie and Landon Quesinberry, who give their thoughts on the marathon day at EchoPark Speedway.

Closing out this week’s show, Schneck takes a quick look at the NASCAR Cup Series points standings as well as previews next week’s running of the Window World 400 at North Wilkesboro Speedway. It will be the first Cup Series points race at the North Carolina short track since 1996.
