This week on Bringing the Heat With Trey Lyle, Caleb Barnes joins to break down the NASCAR In-Season Tournament Challenge matchups and make their picks. Each of the podcasts on the Frontstretch Podcast Network are competing with one another to see who has bragging rights for the best bracket, and who faces punishment for the worst.
Once all of the picks are in, Barnes and Lyle look at the hottest topics from this week. That includes a change to the cars on short tracks. Barnes hopes the changes can improve the racing by helping the cars get a little more unsettled. That change will take effect at North Wilkesboro Speedway in just a few weeks.
Also at North Wilkesboro, Ryan Newman will be back behind the wheel of a truck for the first time in more than a decade. Newman is piloting the No. 25 RAM for the race. Barnes believes Newman’s time driving modifieds will have kept him fresh enough to give Kaulig Racing a good run.
This week’s soundbite comes from the confrontation between Noah Gragson and Kevin Magnussen. Lyle hopes to see K-Mag back in NASCAR in the near future, and Barnes recounts the encounter’s similarity to Talladega Nights scenes.
