NASCAR Mailbox: What Does the Future Hold for Rockingham Speedway?

The calendar has flipped to April and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has run only four races, just one of which was a non-drafting oval. Do we have an idea of who to look out for this season? Or is the sample size still too small?

The Cup Series may be off this weekend, but the NASCAR Oโ€™Reilly Auto Parts Series and Truck Series head to Rockingham Speedway. Does the future of The Rock hold a Cup date on it, or is it better as a standalone for the Oโ€™Reilly and Truck Series?

After a doubleheader weekend in Martinsville, Frontstretch.comโ€™s Ben Lloyd answers these questions in this episode of the NASCAR Mailbox.

  1. I considered Rockingham my home track until 2004. Went to the truck races in 2012 and 2013.

It will take a miracle to occur before I give NASCAR another dime of my money.

  2. I have many happy memories at Rockingham. Hope cup returns & fans support it. I’d happily lose a Charlotte date to do so.
