NASCAR Mailbox: Was Riley Herbst Right?

Tyler Reddick won the 68th running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday (Feb. 15), earning his first crown jewel victory.

The race ended with controversy. Reddick’s 23XI Racing teammate Riley Herbst made a late move to block Brad Keselowski coming to the finish,

The move drew frustration from the RFK Racing owner-driver.

There was additional contact earlier on in the final lap. Entering Turn 1, Michigan drivers Carson Hocevar and Erik Jones made contact, triggering a larger crash that involved multiple cars.

In the first NASCAR Mailbox of the 2026 season, Ben Lloyd answers this week’s questions on the Frontstretch YouTube channel.

  1. I guess Herbst is a “good teammate”. Or maybe he thought if he didn’t he wouldn’t have a ride? Will Reddick return the favour?
