Clash at Bowman Gray Postponed

Mother Nature has not been kind to the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. For the second time, NASCAR has postponed the NASCAR Cup Series exhibition event, this time to Wednesday, February 4.

Practice and qualifying will now be held at 1:30 p.m. ET with coverage on the FOX Sports App. The last chance qualifier will follow at 4:30 p.m on FOX.

The Clash will then take place at 6 p.m. with TV coverage provided by FOX.

Originally scheduled as a two-day show, The Clash was reduced to a single-day event earlier in the week.

Due to inclement weather, NASCAR originally postponed the event to Monday, the 2nd.

However, in coordination with the city of Winston-Salem and the North Carolina Department of Transportation, series officials announced the new Wednesday date on Sunday, the 1st. Furthermore, the Sunday forecast for Wednesday predicts a high of 43 degrees with a 70% chance of precipitation.

NASCAR removed the heat races and will use qualifying to set the first 20 spots in the field. Two more drivers will advance out of the last chance qualifier to make the main event.

Entry List: 2026 Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray

The final spot will go to the highest finishing driver in the 2025 championship standings who did not otherwise lock into the field. The field will consist of 23 drivers.

  2. Kind of makes you realize there was a reason why the Clash was held in Florida for all those years. Common sense.

    • Part of the attraction is the green grass and surrounding of the speedway on the TV coverage for those fans stuck in the depths of winter season Just something to look forward to The Clash The Duels call it what you want It belongs in Daytona

      • I remember the fans claiming the Clash at Daytona was boring, and a wreck-fest. But as soon as a change was announced, the fans said it was fine and should stay at Daytona.
