Due to concussion protocols, William Sawalich will not run the penultimate NASCAR Xfinity Series race of the season at Martinsville Speedway this weekend, Joe Gibbs Racing announced Oct. 22.
According to JGR, Sawalich was experiencing concussion-like symptoms after a crash last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway and has not yet been cleared to race.
Instead, Justin Bonsignore will run JGR’s No. 18.
Through 31 races in his rookie season, Sawalich has three top fives and nine top 10s. He finished 30th at Talladega due to the crash and was transferred to an area hospital afterward but later released.
Bonsignore has made seven Xfinity starts for JGR in 2025 in its No. 19, with a best finish of 12th at Iowa Speedway.
