Bringing the Heat: Jayski’s Dustin Albino ‘Living My Dream Right Now’

This week on Bringing the Heat with Trey Lyle, Jayski’s Dustin Albino – another Frontstretch alum – offers a look into his journey from race fan to race reporter. In high school, Albino played multiple sports, but racing was always his top priority. Albino remembers looking up Jayski as a kid. Now that he’s working at his “dream” job, Albino doesn’t have a single story of one ‘pinch me’ moment, but instead multiple moments that have and are still happening.

Once the interview concludes, Caleb Barnes and Lyle talk the hottest topics of the week. First, they react to reports of a new NASCAR marketing tagline as the sport makes efforts to get back to its roots.

As far as on-track news, Barnes discusses the $50,000 fine for Carson Hocevar, and why the driver of the No. 77 may have earned the penalty. He also explains why Randall Burnett’s decision to leave Richard Childress Racing and Kyle Busch could benefit both parties.

This week’s soundbite comes from a disappointed Bubba Wallace, who went from racing for the lead to finishing fifth in the final corner. Barnes and Lyle recognize Wallace’s maturity compared to past years, as the driver of the No. 23 focused his comments on the fact that he “couldn’t get Toyota a win” rather than disparage his competitor and owner.

In the final thoughts, Barnes and Lyle dispute the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL and its place on the current – and future – NASCAR calendar.
