Carson Hocevar Fined $50,000 After Kansas

Carson Hocevar has been issued a fine of $50,000 for a behavioral penalty in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway last weekend, NASCAR announced Oct. 1.

The penalty was for Hocevar revving and spinning is tires while safety workers attended to his car late in the race. The No. 77 had spun on lap 260 on the backstretch and had some flat tires.

The action was a violation of Sections 4.4.B&D: NASCAR Member Conduct in the NASCAR Rule Book.

Hocevar ended up finishing 29th Sunday.

In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Nick Sanchez’s No. 48 car was found with a loose lug nut after the race. His Big Machine Racing team was penalized $5,000.
