Stock Car Scoop: Career Drive Separates Chase Briscoe in Playoff Opener

The Southern 500 returned to its spot as the playoff opener, and Chase Briscoe returned to his spot in victory lane. Caleb Barnes and Kevin Nix react to Briscoe’s dominant drive, what it means for his playoffs, and potentially for his future.

Although Briscoe dominated, he had company at the finish from Tyler Reddick. The driver of the No. 45 went from nearly crashing on the opening lap to contending for the win at the end. Barnes and Nix share thoughts on Reddick’s drive and run to the finish.

The two also recap the playoff drivers who had a mix of issues both on-track and on pit road, leading to a points shake-up. Toyotas controlled the race, taking six of the top seven spots, while a few other drivers might be a little closer to the panic button than you would expect.

There is a lot to talk about, but just a little time to do so. Check out Stock Car Scoop on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts!
