Chase Elliott will run the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Pocono Raceway this weekend for Hendrick Motorsports, the team announced June 16.
Elliott is entering the No. 17 for his second Xfinity start of the season.
Initially, Elliott was only scheduled for one race this year, the series’ spring trip to Darlington Raceway. He finished second in that start.
In 2025, Elliott has four top fives and eight top 10s in the NASCAR Cup Series for Hendrick, sitting fourth in points entering Pocono.

I don’t mind Cup regulars running Xfinity, as they certainly help to put fans in the stands. What I don’t understand is why they can take points away from regulars. If a Cup driver wins a race, and an Xfinity regular is second, the Xfinity driver/team should receive 1st place points.
I don’t care for the playoff system, but same holds true here…top finishing Xfinity regular should receive all benefits of this, even if Cup drivers win the race.
