Formula 1 Releases 2026 Schedule

The 2026 Formula 1 schedule was announced by the FIA on Tuesday (June 10), revealing a 24-race lineup that spans from the first weekend of March to the first weekend of December.

The first six races of the season are the same as 2025, though the season-opener at Melbourne is a week earlier, on March 6-8.

The first major schedule shakeup comes on the weekend of May 22-24. The series will head to Montreal, Canada, instead of its traditional Monaco date on Memorial Day weekend. Monaco moves to June 5-7 after an off-week following Montreal.

The Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona moves back two weeks to June 12-14, filling Montreal’s former weekend. However, it will not adorn the ‘Spanish Grand Prix’ moniker, as that will move to an all-new second race in Spain at the brand-new Madring. The Madring race will take place on the weekend of Sept. 11-13, with an off-week afterwards.

The addition of the Madring comes at the expense of the Imola Grand Prix at Emilia Romagna, which is not on the schedule for 2026 after not renewing its contract.

Following the Hungarian GP on July 24-26, the traditional month-long hiatus from F1 racing commences. The series returns on Aug. 21-23 at Zandvoort for the final Dutch Grand Prix.

Abu Dhabi will once again host the finale on Dec. 4-6.

The changes to the 2026 schedule come as F1 prepares for the debut of Cadillac as the series’ 11th team, as well the debut of Audi and returns of Ford and Honda as engine manfacturers.

“We are excited to welcome Madrid to the calendar, and to see huge automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac and Ford join the Formula 1 grid,” said Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1. “It promises to be an unforgettable season, where once again we will come together at 24 amazing global venues to watch the best drivers in the world push themselves to the limit and produce incredible wheel to wheel racing for our millions of fans watching around the globe.

“I want to thank all our fans for their passionate support and the FIA, with all the volunteers, marshals and officials, as well as the promoters, partners, sponsors, host cities and the local motor racing federations for their commitment and support in delivering this schedule in what I know will be another historic year for Formula 1.”

F1 Sprint races will once again return in 2026, though the number of races and where they will run have not been announced. The lone exception is Zandvoort, which will host its first Sprint weekend in its final season on the F1 calendar.
