MBM Motorsports is making a return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Tyler Tomassi at the wheel at Pocono Raceway, the team announced June 5.
MBM is preparing a chassis that Tomassi will drive first. The team says in a release that Derek White is in line to drive the truck but will need approval to compete on 1.5-mile and longer tracks, as his last race on such a track was in 2016.
“I am very excited to tackle the Tricky Triangle with MBM in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series,” Tomassi said in a release. “Pocono has always been a special place to me. I have many memories of going there as a kid and dreaming of one day racing at this track. All the thanks in the world to Carl Long and his team for giving me this dream-fulfilling opportunity to race at Pocono.”
Tomassi has run in five Truck events, including three this season for AM Racing. He earned his best finish in the series of 21st at Bristol Motor Speedway.
White, meanwhile, competed at North Wilkesboro Speedway this year in Trucks for Reaume Brothers Racing, his first Truck race since 2014.
The Truck number for Pocono is yet to be announced.
The race at Pocono runs June 20 at 5 p.m. ET.
