Corey Heim Takes Both Stages, Wins at Charlotte

Corey Heim dominated the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, sweeping both stages and winning his fourth race of 2025.

Heim’s Charlotte victory came after leading 98 of the 134 laps in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200, building a lead of nearly seven seconds by race’s end.

“This thing was obviously really good,” Heim said postrace. “I’ve felt like we’ve had the speed to win here the last couple of years, just circumstantially haven’t been able to get it done.

“Just a really nice smooth day. I feel good about this one. I felt like we gave a couple away the last two weeks. We redeemed ourselves tonight.

“It’s a special feeling, and I think everyone can see how good this truck is, and it’s a pleasure to drive it.”

Ross Chastain came home in second, with his Niece Motorsports teammate Kaden Honeycutt finishing in third.

Layne Riggs and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five, while Grant Enfinger, Matt Mills, Daniel Hemric, Rajah Caruth and Brandon Jones completed the top 10.

From the start, Heim quickly took the top spot from pole sitter and TRICON Garage teammate Gio Ruggiero before being challenged by Chastain. After a fierce battle, Chastain took control with Heim close behind.

Heim hounded Chastain before taking the lead with 15 to go in stage one. Heim led the remaining laps to win the opening stage.

Honeycutt started stage two from the top spot after beating Heim off pit road. Heim took the lead from Honeycutt a few laps later but faced challengers in the form of Honeycutt, Chastain and Busch.

As stage two progressed, Heim built a gap over Honeycutt to claim his eighth stage win of 2025 in a sweep of the opening stages.

Honeycutt once again beat Heim off pit road to start stage three from the top spot. Honeycutt took the lead before sliding up the track in turns 3 and 4, opening the door for Heim and Chastain.

Heim pulled ahead of Chastain before the first and only caution for an incident came out after Chandler Smith spun following contact with Ruggiero. Smith spun into the path of Ty Majeski in a two-truck incident.

When the race restarted, Heim emerged up front with Chastain and a fast-charging Riggs following close behind. Riggs made quick work of Chastain to set his sights on Heim, but in the end, Heim could not be beat.
