Layne Riggs Withdrawing From CARS Tour Race at North Wilkesboro

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Layne Riggs will no longer race in the zMAX CARS Tour race at North Wilkesboro Speedway this Friday (May 16) night, despite being on the initial entry list for the event.

Riggs took to social media to make the announcement Wednesday (May 14) afternoon. A six-time winner in the Tour’s Late Model Stock car division, Riggs was scheduled to drive the No. 17 for Tom Usry Racing in the event.

“I will not be racing in the CARS Tour race Friday night at North Wilkesboro even though we previously planned to,” Riggs said via X. “I want to fully focus on winning the truck race on Saturday!”
