Random Vandals Racing’s Kevin Boehm made a move for the lead on RAFA Racing Team’s Gresham Wagner stick in turn 7 Sunday (March 30) with five minutes to go. From there, Boehm pulled away on a drying track to win Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Race No. 2 at Sonoma Raceway with teammate Kenton Koch.
Boehm and Koch’s margin of victory was 6.241 seconds over Wagner and Tyler Gonzalez. Random Vandals Racing’s Sam Craven and Josh Green were third, then JMF Motorsports’ Braden Arthur and Mike David Ortmann. VPX Motorsport’s Danny Dyszelski and Alex Ellis were fifth.
In Silver, the top-two finishers overall were the top finishers in class. Arthur and Ortmann were third, followed by Dyszelski and Ellis.
Former INDYCAR racer Matheus Leist started from the overall pole in his NOLAsport Porsche. Much like the GT America race earlier in the day, the start was single-file for safety reasons.
Unlike the GT America race, the conditions, while still wet, were much better. Despite that, ACI Motorsports’ Loek Hartog spun under braking for turn 2 just after the start due to contact from BimmerWorld Racing’s Tyler McQuarrie. Unlike the restart crash in Saturday’s race, Hartog didn’t hit anyone and was able to continue. McQuarrie was given a drive-through penalty for causing the incident.
Parker Thompson in the light blue JTR Motorsports Engineering Toyota, was able to move up to second overall and slowly ran down Leist for the lead. Once he got there, he didn’t have to fight too hard. Leist went wide at turn 7 12 minutes into the race and that was all Thompson needed to claim the advantage.
Once in the lead, Thompson pulled away from the rest of the Pro-Am class. Meanwhile, Leist fell into the clutches of Riley Dickinson and Josh Green.
Hartog’s problems were not over. He moved back up the order after his opening lap spin, but spun off in turn 6 19 minutes into the race and hit the tire barrier. It was a crash very similar to one Lake Speed had during the 1994 Save Mart Supermarkets 300 in the same corner. The crash bent his rear wing and flipped open his car’s rear hatch. At that point, he pulled off the track and retired from the race.
In Silver, Gonzalez started from the class pole in second overall. Unlike Saturday, the team was able to take the green on-track and actually show what they had.
For the first half of the race, Gonzalez’s primary competition was Koch. Gonzalez ran hard to keep himself ahead of Koch’s CrowdStrike BMW and it paid dividends.
Thompson ended up making an error and going off-course briefly in turn 2. That allowed Gonzalez to take the overall lead with Koch giving chase.
Right as the mid-race pit stop window opened, BimmerWorld Racing’s Charlie Postins was hit from behind by Fast Track Racing’s Stu McAleer and hit the wall on the run to turn 11. He then stalled in the paved area inside of turn 11 that serves as the pit area for the dragstrip, drawing the safety car.

Postins was ok after the wall contact, but he was out on the spot. Nate Cicero was forced to serve a drive-through as a result of his teammate McAleer being responsible for the wreck.
This brought everyone into the pits for their mandatory pit stops. Normally, tire changes aren’t allowed in Pirelli GT4 America SprintX unless you have a flat. However, the wet track was starting to dry out, so teams could potentially have the option to switch.
Following the stops, Wagner ended up with the overall lead with Boehm on his tail. The MX-5 Cup and Toyota GR Cup champion was running well, but the sun came out in the final 15 minutes, significantly changing the race.
Boehm was able to run down Wagner and slip past in turn 7 with five minutes remaining to take the lead. From there, he held on to take the win.
Shortly after the restart, Random Vandals Racing’s Sam Craven was able to race up to Anthony McIntosh and slip past to take the class lead in third overall. Once out front, Craven was able to open a decent advantage as multiple Silver teams were able to get ahead of McIntosh, but not Craven.
From there, Craven was able to pull away to take his first Pro-Am victory along with Green in third overall.
Craven and Green’s margin of victory was 22.023 seconds over Dickinson and Curt Swearingin. AutoTechnic Racing’s Matt Million and Tyler Stone recovered from Saturday’s crash to finish third, followed by McQuarrie and James Walker Jr. OnlyFans Racing/P1 Groupe’s Matt Bell and Alex Vogel were fifth in their McLaren.
In Am, Fast Track Racing’s Dan Ogburn started from pole in 12th overall. Early on, Ogburn had a decent advantage over the rest of the class, but that advantage narrowed as the race went on.
Postins was slowly moving up the order in his BMW to eventually compete with Ogburn for the lead. However, his crash into the concrete wall ended any chance of that.
After the restart, Ogburn’s teammate Judson Holt maintained the lead, but Skip Barber Racing’s Michael Garcia came to life as the track continued to dry out.
However, the moment that determined the outcome in Am happened with 15 minutes to go. Dome Motorsport’s Eddie Killeen and RAFA Racing Team’s Anthony Geraci collided on the frontstretch.
Geraci, who was third in class at the time, went down an access road to avoid going into the wet grass. Killeen went off as well.
Instead of finding a place to turn around, Geraci went straight through and rejoined the track at turn 6. In many series, this would mean that the lap wouldn’t count for Geraci. Not so here. The stewards gave Geraci a 30-second post-race penalty.
As a result, he actually came out of the situation ahead of everyone. Further back, Garcia drove up the order and got past Holt for what was thought to be the lead with 12 minutes to go.
From there, Garcia drove away from the rest of the Am field. However, he ended up far enough behind that he didn’t get within 30 seconds of Geraci by the finish. As a result, despite the penalty, Geraci and Kenny Schmied claimed a weekend sweep.
Geraci and Schmied’s margin of victory was 2.146 seconds over Alex and Michael Garcia. Random Vandals Racing’s Michael Kanisczak and Paul Sparta were third, then Holt and Ogburn after a late spin. Rigid Speed Company’s Joseph and Lucas Catania were fifth.
