Twelve cars had posted a lap in Saturday morning’s (Feb. 15) NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying before the skies opened up and cancelled the remainder of the session.
With the lineup set by the rulebook, defending Xfinity champion Justin Allgaier will start first in the season-opening United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
Xfinity rookie Taylor Gray joins Allgaier on the front row, while Christian Eckes will start third in his Xfinity debut for Kaulig Racing. Austin Hill — the three-time defending winner of this race — will start fourth, while Gray’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate and fellow rookie William Sawalich will roll off fifth.
Sheldon Creed starts sixth in his first Xfinity race for Haas Factory Team, while Brandon Jones starts seventh in his return to JGR. Sam Mayer, Jesse Love and Carson Kvapil rounded out the top 10.
JJ Yeley, Carson Ware and CJ McLaughlin failed to qualify for the race.
The United Rentals 300 is set to begin at 5 p.m. ET on Feb. 15, with coverage provided by The CW.
