Comcast Renews Partnership With NASCAR, Extends for 1 Year As Entitlement Sponsor of Xfinity Series

Comcast has renewed its partnership with NASCAR, continuing to serve as both a premier partner of the NASCAR Cup Series and the entitlement sponsor of the Xfinity Series, it announced Feb. 4.

Comcast, which took over the reins of the Xfinity Series in 2015, is entering its 11th season as the entitlement sponsor.

This will mark the fifth season that Xfinity has been among the premier partners of the Cup Series, as it upgraded its sponsorship ahead of the 2021 season. The extension for the Xfinity Series entitlement sponsorship is for 2025, while the premier partnership is for multiple years.

In addition to the partnership extension, the Xfinity Fastest Lap program will award one race point to the eligible driver and owner with the fastest lap in each race, spanning across the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Drivers and teams can now earn a maximum of 61 points per race.

“We’re not just entering year 11 of our partnership,” Matt Lederer, vp of brand partnership & engagement at Comcast, said. “We’re embarking on year one of a renewed relationship with NASCAR filled with fresh energy and exciting opportunities to enhance the competition on the track in a way that has never been done before, and continue to connect with fans in new and engaging ways.”

Comcast will expand its NASCAR partnership by including more connectivity and entertainment brands such as its Xfinity Mobile and Xumo. Xfinity Mobile has been named the official wireless partner of NASCAR while Xumo, Comcast’s and Charter’s joint streaming platform venture, will become an official video and streaming partner of NASCAR, with plans to offer its customers immersive viewing experiences and unique content.

“NASCAR is incredibly appreciative of Comcast’s continued partnership and their commitment to innovation and fan engagement within our sport,” Michelle Byron, evp and chief partnership and licensing officer at NASCAR, said. “Their contributions over the past decade, from enhancing the fan experience to supporting community initiatives, have been invaluable. We look forward to building on the success of our partnership during the 2025 season and beyond.”

Comcast will continue other activations, including the entitlement sponsor of the penultimate race of the Cup season at Martinsville Speedway, the Xfinity 500. The Comcast Community Champion of the Year programs returns for the 11th season, recognizing individuals within the NASCAR community who demonstrate exceptional dedication to philanthropic endeavors. Erik Jones was named the winner of the 2024 Comcast Community Champion of the Year.
