Garrett Smithley will drive the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season full time for SS-Green Light Racing, SSGLR announced Dec. 19.
Smithley will compete in the No. 14, with Trophy Tractor the chief sponsor announced so far.
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be a full-time driver at SS Greenlight Racing,” Smithley said in a team release. “I haven’t been full time since 2019, so beyond excited to get to work with Bobby [Dotter, owner] and Jason Miller [crew chief]. Daytona [International Speedway] can’t come soon enough!”
Added Dotter, “We are really excited to have Garrett back, his experience will be crucial to succeeding in 2025. When Garrett has raced for us in the past, he did a stellar job, and we look forward to building on that success.”
Smithley competed in 22 of the 33 Xfinity races in 2024, split between JD Motorsports, Alpha Prime Racing and Joey Gase Motorsports. His best finish, 16th, came in the season opener at Daytona.
He has one top five and five top 10s in 180 starts since 2015.
In 2024, the No. 14 was fielded for a variety of drivers. SSGLR also ran the No. 07, which does not yet have any announced plans for the year.
